Can I be real for a minute? I've been so down on myself lately. Mostly as a mom, but also as a wife, daughter, employee, sister, friend...and the list goes on. Why is it that as moms we are constantly comparing ourselves to other moms? You want to know if you're child is getting the right food, the right care...are you giving them enough stimulation, too much stimulation? Should you take them to the doctor, give them medicine? Or forgo traditional medicine? Seriously, I've had about all I can take with constantly questioning my abilities as a mother. And I'm so.over.it. You know why? Because none of that matters. God does NOT want me to feel this way...the devil does. God wants only good for me and my family and I must remind myself of this daily.
So, today I figured I should write about this on my blog...in case there are any other mother's out there reading and thinking the same thing. You are all amazing mothers! Lincoln loves me, Lucas loves me and most importantly God loves me just the way I am and I can rest in that.
Thanks for letting me be honest and random for this post. I've read recently on other blogs that when you stop blogging it's probably because you are not feeling like yourself or a bit down...that's the truth. Here's to happier days and more blogging my friends!
"So don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34 (NIrV)

Some more pictures
Let's Catch Up!
Ok, so I'm still trying to get used to this blog lay out. Hopefully the more I use it the better I will get. But for now this is what you get! ha! Here are some updated pics of our little man.

Here is his 8 month picture. He is such a joy :)

This is his 7 month picture, but I forgot the sign. Oh well! He probably would have just eaten it anyway. :)
Lincoln is now 8 1/2 months old. He is SO busy these days. He has been an early developer in moving. He sat up at 5 1/2 months and since then he has been on the fast track. Here is what he's up to at 8 months:
"I don't want to sit for a picture, mom! I wanna stand!"

-crawling everywhere!
-standing and pulling up on everything. walking along the couch, entertainment center or whatever is in his path.
-he loves to listen and dance to music. especially when daddy plays the bass
-he can say a few words. his first word was "hot". this was because we taught him to say this when he sees a candle. he now also tells Sean to "hush" (hmmm wonder where he learned that?!) it doesn't come out sounding exactly like that but I know that's what he's saying because he's imitating me
-he still isn't a huge fan of food. he likes his milk a lot!
-he has two bottom teeth and 1 top tooth. the second one on top is going to pop through any day now!
-he wears size 3 diaper and 6-9 month clothes
-he now can climb the bottom 3 steps!! yikes!
-And he is FINALLY sleeping through the night (most nights anyway). Once we finally moved him to his own room and upstairs this made it a lot better. Of course he is very stubborn and some nights he will still put up a strong fight for bedtime.
He is such a joy every single day and we are so amazed by everything he learns. He is so smart!! We can't wait for everything 2011 holds for our little family. I know big things and changes are in store for us and we can't wait!
Welcome 2011
Well it's a new year and I always look forward to new years. It means we get a fresh start to change things and many things to look forward to over the next several months. I've got several things I need to work on this new year, but who doesn't right? ha! Anyway, the truth is, I have had a hard time keeping up with everything. Turns out life with an 8 1/2 month old is hard! yes, I admitted it! I've always been one to try and do things perfectly and organized and well... you know how that turned out.
I'm looking forward to all the new things Lincoln will learn this year and all the fun and exciting things Lucas and I get to do with him. And I'm even looking forward to all of the loops and twists and turns that come with motherhood, that will put me right back in my place and let me know that I can't plan everything.
Thank you Lord for loving me no matter what. And thank you Lord for this most precious gift, my child.

Good Morning!
I have a few quick minutes to blog before I start my day. I am once again behind...new story of my life! :) Anyway...I have so much to update on with Lincoln. I will try and post pictures tonight! He is now 5 1/2 months! His biggest trick lately is sitting up like a big boy! I was able to capture the cutest picture the other day of this so I will post it for sure.
We've had a busy last couple of weeks with my cousin Karli getting married. I am so happy for her and her new husband Kyle. She and Kyle had baby Trace just 3 days after Lincoln! I can't wait for them to grow up together!
Ok... that's all for right now. Just thought I'd let you know I'm still here!! Pics and updates to come tonight! Stay tuned................ :)

long napper...
I know, I know...2 posts in one day!? I'm crazy! But since I've got the house all picked up and the little man is STILL napping (going on 2 hours now) here are a few more pics to put a smile on your face! We just love this precious little guy! Love to you all!
catching up
I always feel like I'm catching up. ha! So this blog thing has become harder than I expected. I thought it would be easy to snag a few minutes to blog at least weekly...well that's not been possible here lately! Lots of stuff going on and I've been bad about taking pictures of it all too. I'm going to work on that though!
Summer is now winding down and our baby boy is now 4 months old! Where has the time gone? Lincoln is just growing so fast. He's learning new things everyday and Lucas and I are just completely amazed. We are starting to see more of his personality. So far he seems to be fairly reserved. He's not too loud...although he can be at times. But he simply likes to just sit back and take everything in. He's gotten very good at rolling over from his belly to his back and he's so close to going from his back to the belly which makes changing his diaper harder everyday! :) He can sit supported on our glider or the couch. He loves his exersaucer (has since about 3 months). Lucas and I say it's his "job" because he takes it very seriously! He's very good at smacking the right buttons to here noises!
At his 4 month check-up on September 1st he weighed 15 pounds and 6 ounces and was 25 1/2 inches long! He is right on track!
Lincoln also really enjoys stroller rides. We go on walks around town almost daily. He loves to just kick his feet up on the tray and relax and watch the world go by! Most of the time he is just a happy, content, little man! He still likes to stick his tongue out a lot, especially when he smiles. When people talk to him he smiles really big and then turns and burries his head as if he is shy...it's pretty cute! :) And another one of his favorite things to do right now is sit and watch Lucas play. He will sit and focus on Luc's hands playing the bass. He already loves music and likes to "sing" along! :)
New things we are going to try this week include taking 4 month picture (since he's now almost 4 1/2 months! sheesh). Also we are going to let him explore his "Johnny Jumy Up!" We think he will love it. And the doctor says he can now try food so we might try that later this week. He still nurses quite a bit, but I think adding in some extra and learning to eat with a spoon will be good for him! We will try and see if he's ready.
Because I am so behind on photos... here are the pics I took at 1, 2, and 3 months...4 month pics to come! Hopefully I will also get some other ones up too!
